Take Better Product Photos
Many of us are challenged when it comes to taking product photos and may not have the funds to hire a professional. Photojojo is the first blog I ever subscribed to in hopes of improving my own camera skills. I really like the way PhotoJoJo makes you look at your photo projects in a new, more creative way, which often compensates for poor shooting skills. If you haven’t subscribed to their blog, you should. It’s great. Especially this article geared towards taking products pics! Sade Says:
The best pics I manage to take of small objects are taken with a tripod, the timer of my camera and the macro setting. I have a point and shot digital, with a reflex -dSLR- you can do a lot more. It’s in my list of things to buy!
Set the object in a clear background that won’t be distracting. Have enough light (either natural or artificial - use a lighbox if needed). Put the camera in the tripod, set it for macro (usually a flower icon), set the timer, focus, and let the timer do its thing.
Even with a tripod you can get moved pictures if you shot yourself, this is due to the fact that when you press the button, the camera moves a tiny fraction. If the speed of the shutter is not fast enough there will be some blurryness.
